Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid had been listed as questionable leading into Monday’s big matchup against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz due to a back issue that has given him trouble all season. He has undergone around the clock treatment for it, but back issues can be tricky.
After having another monstrous game against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, the big fella was questionable whether he would face the Jazz, but according to coach Doc Rivers, everything is fine with Embiid and he will play.
“I didn’t know there was an issue,” said Rivers. “So, as far as I know, he’s going.”
Rivers said he didn’t know there was an issue with Embiid, who participated in shootaround. (The big man was listed as questionable on the injury report with back tightness.) https://t.co/xMlVgl9xSx

Embiid and the Sixers will be looking to bounce back after dropping the middle two games of this road trip. If they can knock off Utah, they will return home with a 2-2 split which is the goal for any multiple-game road trip. It is important to at least go .500 on the road.
