Ohio State raced out to a hot start against the Indiana, but lost a little momentum and allowed the Hoosiers back in the game just before halftime. OSU then went on a quick spurt to go back up 38-28 heading into the locker room.
E.J. Liddell led the way for Ohio State in the first half, with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting — 2-of4 from beyond the arc. Duane Washington is the only other Buckeye in double figures with ten points.
Aside from a few minute dry-stretch on offense when Indiana turned up the defensive pressure a little, OSU has played a solid half. The Buckeyes have shot 46.7% from the floor, including 4-of-9 from 3-point range, and have outrebounded the Hoosiers 18 to 15. The Buckeyes also took relatively good care of the basketball, committing just four total turnovers to Indiana’s eitght.
IU forward Trayce Jackson-Davis has had a good half for the Hoosiers, leading the team with nine points, five rebounds (3 offensive), and two assists. If the Hoosiers are going to make this a game, he’ll have to be even more effective in the last twenty minutes.

Despite most stats going Ohio State’s way, the Hoosiers have the capability of making this thing close again with their length and defense. The Buckeyes have to come out with even more focus and intensity to keep this from becoming a tight affair in the second half.
