AFC East news: Jets ‘probably not’ on Deshaun Watson’s radar

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson does not have the New York Jets on his teams he wants to go to.

While JJ Watt turned a leaf on Friday with the Houston Texans, Deshaun Watson has yet to find a way to do so. The quarterback has continually expressed a desire to leave the club this offseason and there will likely be a line of suitors for him if he finally gets traded.

For now, he hasn’t been moved, but the AFC East has been an area that has appeared to be a likely landing spot. The early odds in Las Vegas suggested the Jets and Dolphins were the two favorites to land him.

But perhaps not so fast on the Jets.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler this week, the Jets are “probably not” among the teams that Watson is intrigued by.

Instead, the 49ers and Broncos are teams that would be at the top of Watson’s desired destinations. Undoubtedly those two teams would have better supporting casts for him than the Jets, so it makes plenty of sense on Watson’s end of things.

Still, the Texans front office has said they have no desire to trade Watson, so if they do, they’ll have to be convinced of that by a team. Of all potential suitors for Watson, the Jets probably have one of the best slew of draft picks to offer for the QB.

Naturally in terms of the Bills, they would likely prefer Watson with the NFC’s 49ers, or at minimum, in the AFC West with the Broncos.
