While the Golden State Warriors wait for Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets to arrive in the Bay Area, their G League affiliate was busy against the Delaware Blue Coats in Orlando on Friday.
After dropping the opener to the G League Ignite, the Santa Cruz Warriors looked for their first win of the young season. However, the Warriors had no answer for Delaware’s Paul Reed. The DePaul product notched a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Blue Coats over the Warriors, 103-92.
For Santa Cruz, Nico Mannion tallied a team-high 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field in 36 minutes. The 2020 second-round pick added six assists and five rebounds against the Blue Coats.

Along with hitting a game-high four 3-pointers, Jordan Poole followed Mannion with 19 points on 7-of-19 shooting from the field. Despite his hot-shooting, Poole failed to protect the basketball, turning it over seven times on Friday.
In his second game with the Warriors, Jeremy Lin struggled to find his rhythm with his jumper, recording only seven points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field. Despite his poor shooting, Lin led the Warriors in assists with seven.
After a pair of losses to open the G League bubble, the Seadubs will vie for their first win at Disney World on Saturday afternoon in a matchup against the Westchester Knicks.
