The Philadelphia 76ers will head into the Moda Center on Thursday night a bit shorthanded as they will be without the services of their high level backup point guard.
Shake Milton took a tumble at the end of Tuesday’s win over the Sacramento Kings and he was later diagnosed with a left ankle sprain. The injury is enough to hold him out as he will miss Thursday’s matchup, but this now opens the door for rookie Tyrese Maxey to rejoin the rotation.
Maxey has not played much recently after earning a lot of time when the team was severely shorthanded in January, but he now has an opportunity with Milton out.
“Yeah, or we just extend someone else’s minutes,” said coach Doc Rivers before the game. “We’ll see, most likely Maxey will get some. We’ll just see how everybody’s playing.”

The Sixers fell to the shorthanded Blazers on Feb. 4 at home so this is Philadelphia’s chance to get some revenge. They did not have Ben Simmons in that matchup and he will be playing in this one so this is their big chance to keep the momentum going with tipoff set for 10 p.m. EST.
