Demetrius Andrade is still seeking a fight against a top-tier opponent, a quest that has been difficult for the talented middleweight titleholder.
In the meanwhile, it appears he might soon face mandatory challenger Liam Williams, a solid opponent but not the type of foe will who make for a big event.
Andrade (29-0, 18 KOs) last fought in January of last year, when he stopped Luke Keeler in nine rounds. Williams (23-2-1, 18 KOs) has won seven consecutive fights (all by knockout) since back-to-back losses to Liam Smith in 2017.
The Welshman is coming off a first-round stoppage of Andrew Robinson in October.
In this episode of Jabs with Mannix and Mora, courtesy of DAZN, hosts Chris Mannix and Sergio Mora discuss Andrade’s plight and the possibilities for the near future.
Here’s what they had to say.
