Well, it looks like the Washington Football Team is no longer in the running for former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford.
News broke on Saturday night that the Lions are sending Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams for a trade package that includes QB Jared Goff, two first-round picks, and a third-round pick.
Stafford will now be the guy in LA, working under Sean McVay and having the benefit of weapons like Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Cam Akers at his disposal.
The Lions also have stocked up for a rebuild, with a load of future picks that they can now use to build their team.
For Washington, this takes the No. 1 QB option off the board, with Stafford no longer available. Now the sites are set on Deshaun Watson, who could make history in a trade by going for potentially four first-round picks, or more, considering what Stafford was traded for.
