Following an underwhelming performance in the desert against the Phoenix Suns, the Golden State Warriors will return to the Bay Area to face the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night.
To register their third consecutive win at Chase Center, the Warriors will need to slow down Detroit’s Jerami Grant. The new Piston forward is averaging a career-high 23.8 points on 44.4% shooting from the field with 6.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 blocks in 36.1 minutes per game. In Golden State’s first meeting against the Pistons, Grant notched 27 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the field with five boards in 37 minutes.
Despite Grant’s impressive performance, Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins combined for 58 points to lead the Warriors to a 116-106 win to wrap up their early-season road trip. With the Pistons coming off a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, the Warriors will need to count on the budding Curry and Wiggins tandem to keep pace.
