As the Los Angeles Lakers take the court later on this evening in Detroit, they will do so without one of their key contributors, as Anthony Davis is listed as out for Thursday night’s game against the Pistons with a right quad contusion.
Davis appeared to be nursing his right leg while he sat on the bench during last night’s 107-106 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and he played through it, even making a go-ahead basket before Tobias Harris won the game for Philadelphia on the following Sixers possession.
It’s been a while since Davis last missed a game, back on Jan. 8 against the Chicago Bulls, a game the Lakers escaped with a 117-115 victory. In that game, the Lakers changed up their starting lineup by putting Wesley Matthews and Markieff Morris in the starting lineup. However, that was while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was out, so expect KCP to be in the starting lineup and Morris or Kyle Kuzma to play in Davis’ spot.
