Notre Dame to be without guard in next game

Notre Dame will have a tough challenge ahead of themselves tonight as they take on No. 20 Virginia Tech without one of their leading players

When Notre Dame takes on No. 20 Virginia Tech later this evening the Irish will be attempting to win their third-straight ACC contest after they started the season 0-5 in league play.

If they’re to take down the Hokies, Notre Dame will have to do it without guard Cormac Ryan after he injured his foot Sunday at Miami.

Notre Dame’s athletic department made the announcement on social media early Wednesday night.

Ryan, a junior transfer from Stanford, has averaged just over nine points per game in 13 games for the Irish this season.

Notre Dame’s bench will be called on that much more as a result considering Ryan has averaged over 32 minutes of action per contest this year as well.

Notre Dame and Virginia Tech are set to tip at 7:00 p.m. ET.
