We’ve known that Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will be interviewing with other teams in regard to their vacant head coaching positions.
However, we didn’t know when that would happen, until now.
According to ESPN’s Jeremey Fowler, Daboll will get his first two interviews done on Sunday. Previously reported was Daboll being asked by two teams to interview for their job openings: the Jets and the Chargers.
Daboll interviewing on Sunday makes perfect sense. Per NFL rules, teams can ask other clubs for permission to interview candidates at any time. But if that team, such as the Bills, is still playing in the postseason? Interviews must wait until after their upcoming game.
With the Bills (13-3) hosting the Colts (11-5) on Wild Card weekend’s first matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m., Daboll should have plenty of time Saturday evening to prep for his Sunday chats with both teams.
Earlier this week Daboll commented on interviewing with teams for head coaching jobs. The OC said he was humbled but assured that he was focusing on the Bills’ upcoming game as well.
