Texas at West Virginia: Three things to know
- The Longhorns have rattled off five straight victories since their lone loss of the season against Villanova on Dec. 6, but they have covered just once in the past four games. They have been a favorite of total bettors at the window, hitting three consecutive Overs.
- West Virginia split a pair of games in the Sooner State, losing 75-71 at Oklahoma on Jan. 2 before bouncing back with an 87-84 victory at Oklahoma State, hitting the Over in each of the outings.
- The Mountaineers covered their last time out, but haven’t been able to string together consecutive covers since a 3-0 ATS run from Nov. 26-Dec. 2. The Mountaineers have been rather inconsistent shooting the ball, hitting just 41.8 percent of their field-goal attempts, which ranks 268th in the country.

Texas at West Virginia: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Texas 77, West Virginia 66
Money line (ML)
TEXAS (+100) is a huge value on the road at even-money, as West Virginia (-120) has just been too inconsistent from the field, and they’re not a very good team from long distance, either.
Against the spread (ATS)
TEXAS +2.5 (-115) is a better value straight up, but if you want a little insurance, and think West Virginia -2.5 (-105) might win by one or two, then knock yourself out and take the ‘Horns with the bucket and a hook. The Mountaineers are just 3-3 ATS in the past six as a favorite, and 2-2 ATS at home this season. Texas is 2-1 SU/ATS as an underdog in 2020-21.
Over/Under (O/U)
OVER 139.5 (-110) is the lean, as both sides have been trending to the high side in recent weeks. If it makes you feel even better, the Over is 5-0 in West Virginia’s past five games vs. teams with a winning percentage over .600.
And for what it’s worth, Texas has hit the Over in each of its past five Saturday games. More importantly, though, the Over is 3-0 in the past three games overall for Texas.
