One Notre Dame player in USA TODAY’s latest first round NFL Mock Draft

How many players will Notre Dame have selected in the first round of the NFL draft? USA TODAY made their best guess and has one domer in.

It’s been a long week for Notre Dame football fans as they attempt to recover from their latest blowout loss on the grandest of college football stages.

It’s also been hard as a number of players have entered the transfer portal and although some were expected, there were some who were not.

Others, despite it not being surprising, have entered the NFL Draft and officially leave holes in the roster that will be missed and take a lot to be replaced.

Attention for some turns to the NFL draft as we wonder what new homes some of Notre Dame’s stars from 2020 will end up at.

USA TODAY released their latest NFL mock draft and one Notre Dame player cracked their first round, and we’d assume you could guess who that was.

18. Dolphins — Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame:

His exact role in the NFL might be difficult to determine after he operated as a linebacker/safety hybrid, but Owusu-Koramoah should fit in nicely in Miami thanks to his ability to handle both tight ends and running backs in coverage.

It’s not so much a question to me about if Owusu-Koramoah gets taken in the first round but how high will he end up?

As pointed out is that Owusu-Koramoah’s exact fit in the NFL isn’t known, I think largely because he’s slightly undersized, but before I state that he’ll undoubtedly end up right around 18, remember that Isaiah Simmons from Clemson went eighth overall despite not having the ideal size and position questions.

It’s a classic case of the tape not lying with Owusu-Koramoah and I’d be surprised to see him go anywhere but up from 18th overall.
