Saints injury report: FS Marcus Williams (ankle) returns to practice

New Orleans Saints FS Marcus Williams (ankle) returned to practice for the Chicago Bears Wild-Card Round playoff game, per the injury report

The New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears published their injury reports following Wednesday’s practice for the Wild-Card Round, with New Orleans largely sharing news of good health. Just one player was a non-participant in practice — guard Nick Easton, who was listed with a concussion. This would be his third concussion of the season and could possibly force him onto injured reserve.

While they were not listed on the injury report because they are still on the injured reserve list, both wide receivers Michael Thomas (ankle) and Deonte Harris (neck) returned to practice, per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. If each player is healthy by Sunday’s kickoff, they will be eligible to suit up for the first round of the playoffs. But that’s reliant on how well their bodies respond in practice this week after three weeks of inaction.

Quarterback Taysom Hill (concussion) was listed as practicing on a limited basis. He exited Week 17’s win over the Carolina Panthers late with an apparent head injury, so it’s good to see him return in some capacity. Here’s hoping it isn’t a serious issue for him.

Additionally, Saints free safety Marcus Williams (ankle) returned to work as a limited participant. He missed some time recently after injuring himself on a would-be interception a few weeks ago, and his return would be a nice boost in experience and athleticism to the secondary. Stay tuned for updates throughout the week.
