Brennan Carroll leaving for University of Arizona after season ends

Seattle Seahawks running game coordinator Brennan Carroll is heading to the University of Arizona following the culmination of the season.

Seattle Seahawks running game coordinator Brennan Carroll will be leaving the organization soon, as he has accepted the job of offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for the University of Arizona’s football program.

The son of Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, Carroll served as an offensive line coach for Seattle for five years before taking on the duties of run game coordinator for the 2020 season. Coach Carroll commented on the situation, expressing his appreciation for his son’s work in the Emerald City over the years, but that working with Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch is an opportunity Brennan simply couldn’t pass up.

“I’m real grateful – Brennan and I are both really grateful for having a chance to be that close to our family, kind of intact for a while here,” Carroll said Friday.

“We’ve cherished it and dreaded the time it was going to come. He’s had a couple chances at other times, and we were able to keep him here, but this one is just right with the right guy with Jedd Fisch and all that,” Carroll continued. “And he’s really excited about it, so we’re excited for him. But we’ve been very lucky to have this kind of connection that we’ve had, and he’s done an incredibly good job for us. I’ve loved having him here.”

Carroll will stay with the Seahawks until their season ends, which will hopefully involve the Lombardi Trophy being hoisted by the blue and green once again.
