Texas will be without starting quarterback Sam Ehlinger in the second half of the Valero Alamo Bowl.
Ehlinger jogged into the locker room seemingly fine at halftime. According to Longhorn Network, the senior quarterback will be sidelined for the second half due to a shoulder injury.
Sam Ehlinger is out for the remainder of the game (shoulder).

The severity of Ehlinger’s shoulder injury is yet to be known.
It feels eerily similar to former quarterback Colt McCoy’s final moments in Austin. Although Ehlinger has yet to make an official announcement on his future, all signs point to him declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.
Ehlinger had 10 completions for 160 yards and one touchdown in the first half. Freshman running back Bijan Robinson has handled the load thus far with seven carries and 156 yards and one touchdown.
The former five-star recruit also recorded a receiving touchdown of 14 yards in the first half. It’s unclear why head coach Tom Herman didn’t take advantage of Robinson’s abilities earlier in the season.
