Ohio State basketball moves up a seed line in latest ESPN Bracketology

The latest update to Joe Lunardi’s ESPN Bracketology has Ohio State moving up a seed line for the projected NCAA Tournament.

Most of the sports media world (including Ohio State) is getting ready for the College Football Playoff, but there’s still some hoops to talk about. And while OSU has had an up and down start to the Big Ten season, it’s still putting together a pretty good campaign early on in the 2020-2021 season.

It’s not March yet, but we still like to take the pulse of where some of the projections have Buckeye hoops when it comes to the NCAA Tournament that we hope gets off the ground in 2021. Any time you discuss the topic of “Bracketology” you can’t do so without checking in with ESPN’s resident expert, Joe Lunardi.

On that note, we thought we’d look in on where he currently has Ohio State projected, and it’s not bad. During the last release, Lundardi had the Buckeyes on the No. 6 seed line, but he’s moved them up to a No. 5 seed based on the big win over Rutgers last week.

This will all change of course, but Lunardi has OSU matching up with No. 12 seed Davidson in the “Region 4.” Remember, the tournament will take place in one geographical region rather than spread out across the country, so it’s more about where these teams pod together. Kansas is currently the No. 1 seed in Region 4 according to Lunardi.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on where things are trending for Ohio State as we step through the season. As good as the Big Ten is, the peaks and valleys have a good chance of continuing through March.
