Getting adequate sleep is an invaluable part of life, right? Cam Newton doesn’t believe so.
The New England Patriots quarterback gets less than five hours a sleep of night, while waking up at 4:20 a.m. He begins his day by leaving the house at 4:30 a.m., according to a graphic by ESPN. The Ringer’s Rodger Sherman compared Newton’s sleep patterns to other high-functioning athletes.
LeBron James attempts to sleep nearly 10 hours a night and it helps him remain above other NBA players — sometimes hitting up to 12 hours. Michael Phelps aims for at least eight hours of sleep and those are two guys to model these habits after.

NFL fans and media reacted to the lack of sleep.
No wonder Cam has sucked all year. Going on less than five hours of sleep every day. pic.twitter.com/FHAs2omUoe

ESPN showed a graphic that said Cam Newton goes to sleep at 11:30 p.m. and wakes up at 4:20 a.m.
I could not function on four hours and 50 minutes of sleep per night. I tried. It was called the first few months of fatherhood.

I have a wonky sleep schedule, but #Patriots QB Cam Newton operates on less than 5 hours sleep?
