In the least surprising news of the week, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports something we all knew was coming: quarterback Daniel Jones will start against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15.
The news was promptly confirmed by several Giants beat writers, all of whom knew Jones had been trending in the right direction and would ultimately receive the green light.
#Giants QB Daniel Jones, dealing with hamstring and ankle injuries, is starting tomorrow, per me and @TomPelissero. It was headed that way all week, so no surprise. But it’s Jones vs the #Ravens.

Jones had been hobbled in recent weeks due to a hamstring strain and ankle sprain, missing games against the Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns sandwiched between an underwhelming and obviously limited outing against the Arizona Cardinals.
“I’m doing everything I can to get back out there. Every week you want to play. I did all I could last week, and that’s certainly my approach this week. I’m working as hard as I can. I really do want to be out there with the guys and go after a win on Sunday,” Jones told reporters earlier this week.
“I’m further from that hamstring injury and I’ve continued to improve every day. I’m feeling better, feeling better this week. Like I said, my focus is to keep improving that way and to continue to progress through the program that the trainers and doctors have laid out for me.”
Although Jones did look significantly healthier in practice throughout the week, it remains to be seen just how mobile he’ll be against live competition.
