New York Giants linebacker Blake Martinez is playing the best football of his career, has logged his fourth consecutive season with more than 120 tackles and is currently among the league leaders in that statistic.

Not only is Martinez a tackling machine, he’s an enforcer and leader on a surprisingly talented defense that couldn’t function as well without his presence. By all accounts, that’s Pro Bowl worthy, but that honor did not bestow Martinez here in 2020.

Although the Giants will sent cornerback James Bradberry and tight end Evan Engram to the virtual Pro Bowl, Martinez was among five Giants who got snubbed.

Although Martinez was snubbed for the Pro Bowl, he hasn’t given up hope yet. There is one more significant honor he’s vying for and that would also be a first for the 26-year-old.

Shortly after the realization of missing the Pro Bowl set in, Martinez began campaigning for an All-Pro honor.

In 14 games, Martinez has recorded 128 tackles (eight for a loss), five QB hits, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, five passes defensed and one interception.

At the very least, those numbers should get Martinez some serious consideration for the All-Pro team.
