At 6-0 in the young 2020-21 college basketball season, Michigan is making moves. Though, those who do the rankings have been unsure what to do with the Wolverines.

Michigan basketball started out the season at No. 25 and dropped out after an overtime win over Oakland in the second game, according to the AP Top 25. But what do the coaches think? After all, the maize and blue are No. 15 on KenPom, with the nation’s ninth-best offense and 30th-ranked defense.

Well, the good news is, Michigan moved up five points. The bad? It’s still in the lower end of the top 20.

The USA TODAY Coaches Poll ranked Michigan basketball at No. 19, while several one, two, and three-loss teams are ranked ahead of the Wolverines.

As far as future opponents are concerned, Iowa drops to No. 5, Wisconsin in No. 9, Michigan State fell to No. 11 after losing to Northwestern, Rutgers is No. 12, Illinois is No. 18, and Ohio State is No. 20.
