Jimbo Fisher of Texas A&M is going to be furious

The fifth and sixth teams that will also take part in major bowls, but not the playoffs: Texas A&M (8-1) and Oklahoma (8-2).

And the schools that are feeling jilted and left out: Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina for starters

There was no surprise Alabama was the top seed as the Crimson Tide are undefeated and coming off an SEC Championship victory over Florida in a thriller on Saturday.

Clemson locked its spot up by destroying Notre Dame in the ACC Championship.

There was some controversy around Ohio State because the Buckeyes only played six games, winning them all.

The fourth spot was the juicy one. Notre Dame defeated Clemson in double overtime six weeks ago. The Tigers, however, didn’t have Trevor Lawrence, who missed the game due to COVID-19. In the rematch, they crushed the Fighting Irish.

On the Texas A&M front, they were downed by 28 by Alabama for their loss.

And there was Cincinnati, which ran the table, finishing its season with a victory over Tulsa to capture the AAC title.
