Stats and Highlights: Steph Curry drops 29 points in Warriors preseason finale vs. Kings

In his final preseason tune-up before the start of the 2020-21 NBA season, Steph Curry dropped 29 points on 9-of-23 shooting in 29 minutes against the Kings.

Stephen Curry opened the preseason only scoring 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field against the Denver Nuggets. After his underwhelming preseason debut, Curry bounced-back, scoring 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field against the Kings.

To put a bow on the 2020 preseason, Curry and the Warriors made the short trip to Sacramento for a final tune-up with the Kings on Thursday.

It looked like Curry was bound for a quiet night, starting the game shooting only 2-of-10 from the field. While Curry’s jumper wasn’t there, the point-guard showed off his quarterback skills with a pair of long-distance passes to Andrew Wiggins breaking down the court.

When the second-half was underway, Curry’s scoring power switched on.

In the third quarter, Curry exploded for 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field with three 3-pointers.

The Davidson product’s full offensive arsenal was on display in the third quarter. Curry was scoring the ball from beyond the arc and inside the lane. With Curry in the zone, the Warriors pushed to a double-figure lead over Sacramento, heading into the fourth quarter.

Curry finished the contest scoring a game-high 29 points on 9-of-23 shooting from the field with six boards, three assists and two steals in 28 minutes against the Kings.

After an extended offseason that included a nine-month layoff from game-action, Curry notching 29 points in consecutive preseason games is a positive sign for the Golden State point guard.

Curry and the Warriors will now travel to New York for the 2020-21 season opener against Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets
