Wisconsin has a chance to end the season by keeping Madison’s most prized possession in its rightful home. The battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe is on tomorrow afternoon at Camp Randall, and the Badgers are heavily favored over Minnesota according to BetMGM.
Wisconsin is currently a 13.5 point favorite, meaning a bet on the Badgers would only hit if UW wins by 14 points or more. On the moneyline, meaning betting on Wisconsin to win outright, the Badgers pay at -600. A $600 bet on Wisconsin to win would net $100 of profit.
It’s a steep line for a Badger team who has lost three in a row and failed to cover the spread in three consecutive weeks. UW started 2-0 against the number with blowout wins over Illinois and Michigan, but their three-game losing streak has been both on the field and in Vegas. Minnesota has seen a nearly opposite trajectory. The 3-3 Gophers started 0-2 outright and against the spread, but have since gone 3-1 outright and against the number. Last week, P.J. Fleck’s group won outright at Nebraska despite being double-digit underdogs.
The total for the game is set at 47.5, which is the highest total Wisconsin has had on a game in three weeks.
