Khari Gee had been committed to the defending champion LSU Tigers since May. On Friday, the longtime LSU commit flipped his commitment to Notre Dame and signed with the Fighting Irish.
The three-star safety appeared solid with Tigers for much of the season, but with the additions of higher-rated safeties such as Derrick Davis Jr. and Sage Ryan, Gee began to look around, and Notre Dame kept the pressure on Gee.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Gee played his high school football at the Woodward Academy in Atlanta.
In addition to Davis Jr. and Ryan, the Tigers also added Matthew Langlois in the 2021 recruiting class.
The early signing period ends on Friday, Dec. 18, after a three-day window. Players who did not sign must now wait until national signing day in February.
LSU currently has 21 commitments for the 2021 class, with 19 signing this week. Raesjon Davis and Saivion Jones are expected to sign in February, and the Tigers remain in the mix for other high-profile players.
LSU remains at No. 4 in the 247Sports composite team rankings for 2021.
