Bills designate WR John Brown to return from IR

Buffalo Bills move John Brown on injured reserve designation.

The Bills have designated wide receiver John Brow to return from the team’s injured reserve list on Tuesday, according to the NFL’s transactions list.

The move comes as little surprise because Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said on Monday via video conference that Brown would practice in some fashion this week. Brown wouldn’t be allowed to do so without this latest news.

“He will practice this week and we’ll see how it goes,” McDermott said.

Buffalo (10-3) travels to Denver to play the Broncos (5-8) on Saturday.

The Bills  have 21 days from Tuesday until they need to activate Brown fully from injured reserve, by NFL rules. If they do not, Brown automatically reverts back to the IR for the remainder of the season. So in that window, Brown can still miss game time, therefore his status for playing against the Broncos is still up in the air.

Here’s our previous coverage on Brown practicing this week from Monday:
