Washington stretches win-streak to 4 games; takes over 1st place in NFC East

Washington used a dominant showing on defense to stretch their winning streak to 4 games and take over the top spot in the NFC East.

The Washington Football Team used a dominant performance on defense against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, coming away with a 23-15 victory that extending their winning streak to 4 games and gave them sole possession of 1st place in the NFC East.

The defense was beyone comparison on Sunday, coming up with 4 sacks, 1 INT, and two touchdowns, both from rookies in Chase Young and Kamren Curl. The offense wasn’t spectacular, but when you have a defense that as good as the one in D.C., you don’t need to be perfect on that side of the ball.

Thanks to an implosion from the New York Giants earlier in the day, where they lost to the Arizona Cardinals, 26-7, Washington has now moved into the top spot in the NFC East with a  6-7 record. Should they continue on this pace, they will be able to seal the division title and a playoff spot against the No. 5 seed in the NFC East.
