Former Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals made their second trip of the season to East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday to do battle with the suddenly surging New York Giants.
The Cardinals came in scuffling having dropped three in a row and four of their last five to dip them down to 6-6 on the season. Despite the rough patch, they still are good shape to make the postseason with the expanded playoffs this year as long as they can find some wins down the stretch.
It wasn’t the prettiest game of the season for Murray and Arizona, but it was a solid performance to get a big 26-7 road win.
Murray finished the day 24/35 passing for 244 yards and one touchdown. He also tacked on 47 yards on the ground on the afternoon.
It was an important win for the Cardinals to get back above .500 at 7-6 as they now currently hold the final playoff spot in the NFC with the Minnesota Vikings‘ loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Next up for Arizona will be a home matchup with another former Sooner quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday afternoon.
