Once again, a last-second field goal doomed the Gators. Unlike in their loss to Texas A&M, they had the chance to answer after Cade York drilled a 57-yarder. But despite a drive that got Florida into Evan McPherson‘s field-goal range, he missed the kick as time expired.
UF lost for the second time this season on Saturday, this time to rival LSU at home 37-34. Florida’s struggles from the last several weeks came to a tee in the outing, and it failed to execute on both sides of the ball despite a productive day on paper for the offense.
Though larger aspirations may have been dashed with the upset loss, the Gators face the nation’s top team next Saturday in Alabama with an SEC title on the line. As UF tries to move forward, here are five takeaways from the loss to the Tigers.
