While the status is up in the air on if the Texas Longhorns will play the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday, there is no question they will go bowling this year. The Longhorns paused all football activities after three positive tests were revealed on Sunday following their 69-31 victory over Kansas State.
Currently the Longhorns sit third in Big 12 standings behind two teams that defeated them this year. The Iowa State Cyclones are No. 1 with a record of 8-2, the Oklahoma Sooners are No. 2. They could match Iowa State with an identical 8-2 record if they beat West Virginia on Saturday.
Texas could finish anywhere from the No. 3 slot to No. 5. It all will depend on the outcome of this week. They are just ahead of Oklahoma State due to their head-to-head matchup in Stillwater.
