When the 2020 season began, you needed all of your fingers and toes to count the number of teams with better Super Bowl odds than the Los Angeles Rams. Now, you need just one hand.
With four games left in the season, the Rams have the fifth-best odds to win Super Bowl LIV at +1400, according to BetMGM. They had the 20th-best odds in Week 1 when they opened at +5000, or 50/1. It’s been a remarkable rise up the ranks for the Rams, improving their title chances more than any other team in the NFL, even going from ninth-best at the midway point to fifth-best now.
So who are the only four teams with a better chance to win it all than the Rams? You can probably guess them fairly easily: Chiefs (+230), Saints (+500), Steelers (+750) and Packers (+900). There’s a pretty significant drop-off from the top four to the Rams, but then there’s a cluster of teams around the same range.
The Seahawks are +1600, followed by the Bills and Buccaneers at +1800. The Cardinals’ chances have fallen off dramatically after their three straight losses, dropping all the way to +8000 – behind even the Giants.
After Week 13’s results, which saw the Rams beat the Cardinals and the Seahawks fall to the Giants, Los Angeles is now the favorite to win the NFC West at -145. They control their own fate, only needing to win their next three games against the Patriots, Jets and Seahawks to clinch the division.
The final four games won’t be easy by any means, but even if the Rams go just 2-2, they’ll be in the mix in the NFC. They’d like to win out and head into the playoffs with some momentum, but they’re almost a lock to make the playoffs.
And once they do get into the dance, watch out. They’re capable of beating any team in the league thanks to their dominant defense.
