Although the team has only had two wins on the season, Michigan State Football has shown that they still have a strong defense. A big part of that defense has been Shakur Brown, who has been putting together quite the season for the Spartans. On Monday, PFF (Pro Football Focus) released their updated cornerback rankings, and Brown had the No. 2 grade in the country.

Here are PFF’s top four graded corners:
- Elijah Molden, Washington: 90.6
- Shakur Brown, Michigan State: 87.3
- Patrick Surtain II, Alabama: 86.3
- Tykee Smith, West Virginia: 85.3
Brown is now tied with Northwestern’s Brandon Joseph and Coastal Carolina’s D’Jordan Strong for the most interceptions on the season with five. Of course, two of those came against Joseph and the Wildcats when the Spartans upset them on Saturday. Brown also had two picks in MSU’s loss to Indiana. His other interception came in the season-opening loss against Rutgers.
