Michigan State opened its 2020-21 basketball season ranked No. 13 in the AP Poll and made a strong case for why they deserved that ranking and the right to move up the polls. The Spartans took care of business in the first week of the college basketball season beating Eastern Michigan 83-67 and showing an even stronger effort in a 80-70 win over Notre Dame.
Two strong performances have given the voters a strong indication of what the Spartans are going to bring to the table early on this season. This resulted in Michigan State moving up five spots into the No. 8 slot in the latest poll.
