Watch: Van Jefferson scores first touchdown of NFL career

Van Jefferson has found the end zone for the first time in his career.

The Rams have big plans for Van Jefferson after drafting him in the second round this year, even if those plans don’t come to fruition this season. The rookie has played sparingly and not seen many passes thrown his way, but he turned a catch into six on Monday night against the Bucs.

He scored the first touchdown of his career in the second quarter, a 7-yard reception from Jared Goff. It tied the game up at 14, giving the Rams a much-needed touchdown after allowing back-to-back scores by Tampa Bay.

Here’s another angle from the back of the end zone, showing Jefferson just barely getting into the end zone for a touchdown.

After scoring, Jefferson gave the ball to his dad, Shawn Jefferson. He’s a former NFL wide receiver himself, and current wide receivers coach for the New York Jets, who the Rams will play later this season.
