How quickly it seems to have snuck up on us all, but basketball season is right around the corner as both Notre Dame’s men’s and women’s teams have been preparing for a season that both hope to return them to the NCAA Tournament.
With those and hockey in mind, the University of Notre Dame today released their guidelines for attendance during the 2020-21 seasons.
They were made in conjunction with the campus, local, and conference health and safety guidelines.
The basketball and hockey seasons will begin with the only fans in attendance being guests of the student-athletes and coaches from both participating teams.
No other students, no other faculty or staff will be allowed to purchase tickets like was the case for football.
This is all being done while the campus is keeping with their masks and distancing policies for all guests.
Per the University release as well, as the seasons progress, the University, the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Big Ten Conference will continue to monitor the conditions and evaluate the possibility of welcoming additional audiences. If Notre Dame decides to extend invitations beyond the campus community, season ticket members will receive priority to purchase single-game tickets.
Notre Dame men’s basketball tips off Saturday night at No. 13 Michigan State while the Irish open their home schedule on December 2 by welcoming Western Michigan.
The women’s basketball team is set to start their season against Ohio on Friday before opening their home slate by welcoming Georgia Tech on December 13.
The hockey team returns to action with two games at Michigan this weekend before their first home series of the year December 3 and 4 against Arizona State.
