The Miami Dolphins are a little less than an hour and a half from kickoff, and we now know which Dolphins on the 53-man roster will not be suiting up for today’s game. The Dolphins shared the inactives list approximately 90 minutes before kickoff in Week 10.

The inactive list features several key offensive players — and every player on the 53-man roster who is on the defensive side of the ball will dress for today’s game. Miami’s biggest surprise from the inactive list features three players from the offensive backfield: RB Matt Breida, FB Chandler Cox and RB Jordan Howard. With veteran back Myles Gaskin on injured reserve and Breida battling a hamstring issue, the Dolphins’ decision to keep Howard inactive for this football game is a bit of a surprise.
The Miami offensive attack has struggled with Howard in the mix; his lack of athleticism and quickness has severely limited the opportunities to create big plays or even find gaps in a timely manner.
But with the backfield options limited, seeing Howard inactive this week is still a surprise. Miami will presumably default to rookie back Salvon Ahmed, who was impressive in his debut last week for the Dolphins against Arizona and also to DeAndre Washington — who the team acquired at the trade deadline from the Kansas City Chiefs and was inactive last weekend. Rookie wide receiver Malcolm Perry also has ball handling experience and should be considered a sleeper to gather some carries if Miami decides to implement their Wildcat package this week as well.
One of Miami’s other inactives, rookie WR Lynn Bowden Jr, has also logged college experience as a ball handler — but it seems as though he’s been surpassed by Perry for that niche role in the Dolphins’ offense.
Miami and Los Angeles kickoff at 4:05 PM EST from Hard Rock Stadium. We now know who will be suiting up as Miami seeks their 6th win of 2020.
