The Bradley Beal trade rumors have slowed down a bit since they peaked early on in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Still, the talks haven’t come to a complete halt even though signs point to the Wizards holding onto the guard — which seems to be what Beal wants, too.
Among the teams that were reportedly interested in Beal was Brooklyn. He’d give them a third star, if the Nets feel it’s necessary to have one on the roster in order to win — or that Caris LeVert can’t fill the role.
While it appears the Nets are still looking to make moves, the Beal-to-Brooklyn talk has slowed — outside of the occasional conversation amongst talking heads.
But now, Zach Lowe of ESPN believes the Nets are still in on Beal, in addition to New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday:
“The bidding for Holiday and Beal figures to center on Denver, Golden State, and Brooklyn — and to some extent Atlanta, Miami, and Dallas. The Hawks might try nabbing Holiday using their No. 6 pick — which they would be open to trading for veteran help, per several sources — but I don’t see that alone getting it done. Would they attach one of their young wings?”
Whether it’s a deal for Beal or Holiday, the Nets will have to move some important pieces to get either player. Lowe expects a deal for Holiday will cost Brooklyn LeVert. Spencer Dinwiddie’s name has also popped up amidst trade rumors involving the Nets.
