Well, nobody ever said that Juwan Howard can’t recruit.
The Michigan basketball program had one five-star recruit in the fold for some time last cycle, so with another one now in 2021, fans (and the staff) will be hoping the Wolverines can hold onto him. With a solid class this cycle already, it got even better, with Howard going out and getting an absolute star at power forward.
Originally from Canada, Caleb Houstan is a 6-foot-8, 205-pound PF from Monteverde (FL) Academy, and is ranked the No. 8 player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.
And he just pledged his commitment to the maize and blue.

NBA Draft Room sees his comparable as being Paul George. Here’s what else it had to say:
Caleb Houstan is a perimeter oriented forward with an advanced skill level for his age. He has recently re-classed to join the 2021 recruiting class.
He sees the game at a high level and is a willing passer, good decision maker and excellent 3pt shooter. Last year he got big minutes for a loaded Montverde team and should take on a starring role in his senior season.
Has excellent shooting form and projects as a knockdown 3pt shooter. Has a smooth release and shoots it with ease and with easy range.
Handles the ball well with both hands and projects as a guy who will be able to initiate the offense as his game develops.
Has ideal size for a wing and a great frame that will be able to add strength over the years. Moves very well for his size.
Will Howard & Co. be able to hold on? It’ll be a wild ride until signing day.
Houstan picked the Wolverines over Duke, Virginia and Alabama.
