No. 24 Oklahoma (3-2, 2-2) heads down to Lubbock on Saturday for a Halloween night showdown with the Texas Tech Red Raiders (2-3, 1-3) at Jones AT&T Stadium.
It will be the 28th all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Sooners holding a commanding 21-6 series lead.
However, four of those Red Raider wins came in Lubbock creating a much closer 8-4 series when Oklahoma has to travel to Texas Tech.
The Sooners’ current eight-game winning streak is the longest in the series history. The last Red Raider victory came in 2011 when Tommy Tuberville’s group came into Norman and left with a stunning upset win over Bob Stoops’ No. 3 ranked team.
The biggest margin of victory was the 2002 edition of the series, when Oklahoma obliterated Tech by a final score of 60-15.
Of course, arguably the most memorable showdown between the two schools was in 2016 when Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes dueled to an insane 66-59 final that will forever live in college football lore.
The next installment in the series will take place this Saturday night in Lubbock at 7:00 p.m. CT.
