Official: Washington has placed S Landon Collins on IR and promoted S Jeremy Reaves from the practice squad.
Collins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on Sunday. Washington now has five open spots on the practice squad, which could be filled in the next week or so.

It was expected to happen, but the Washington Football Team announced on Tuesday that safety Landon Collins was being placed on the injured reserve with an Achilles injury that will end his 2020 season. He will receive surgery on the Achilles, and hopefully be back in time for the start of the 2021 season.

In his place, Washington promoted S Jeremy Reaves from the practice squad to the active roster. It is unclear if this is the only move that Washington is going to make to try and fill the hole left by Collins, as they also have the option to try and sign a safety in free agency. If they do try to sign someone, that move will have to be made by Wednesday at the latest to make sure the player gets through all COVID-19 protocols in time to play in the Week 9 game against the New York Giants.
