The Indianapolis Colts (4-2) are fresh off of their bye week and have opened as road favorites against the Detriot Lions (3-3) ahead of the Week 8 matchup at Ford Field.
While the Lions themselves are coming off of a thrilling comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons, the Colts will open the week as 2.5-point favorites, per BetMGM.
Currently holding the No. 7 seed in the AFC playoff race, the Colts will kick off their second-half schedule. It won’t be an easy one on the road to a playoff spot, but Indy can get started on the right foot with a win on the road against a scrappy Lions squad.
The Lions are led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is enjoying a solid season completing 62.5% of his passes for 1,580 yards, 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. They will also likely feature rookie running back D’Andre Swift, who continues to see a bigger role each week.
The Colts are hoping to see the return of wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and linebacker Darius Leonard, but we won’t know their statuses until the first injury report comes out on Wednesday.
This is a huge game for the Colts, who need to prove they can come out of the bye week strong. Grabbing a win here before the schedule really gets tough could go a long way down the stretch.
