You are not seeing things. The Detroit Lions wanted the officials to rule an Atlanta Falcons run by Todd Gurley a touchdown.
And the officials obliged and the accidental scored wound up leading to doom for the Atlanta Falcons against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
All the Falcons needed was to make sure they didn’t score a TD and hit a chip-shot field goal to walk off with a 17-16 win over the Lions.
However, when Gurley found paydirt, Atlanta had the lead and after a 2-point conversion it was 22-17.
Problem is it also gave Matthew Stafford the ball and 74 seconds to drive what turned out to be 75 yards.

The veteran QB, who was once a No. 1 overall pick from Georgia, did exactly that, finding T.J. Hockenson from 11 yards for the game-tying TD as the clock hit 0:00. Matt Prater’s PAT gave the Lions a 23-22 win.
