Alabama remains No. 2 in AP poll, moves closer to top spot

Alabama is still No. 2 in the country after being the only undefeatedteam in the SEC. Clemson stays stong at the top spot.

No. 2 Alabama showed no signs of slowing down during Week 5’s matchup against Tennessee. Despite losing star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, the Crimson Tide remains as the only undefeated team in the SEC.

The win was enough to keep them at No. 2 in the latest AP Poll, being met by Ohio State one spot behind after their first game of the 2020 season. However, it wasn’t enough to move them up to No. 1 and dethrone Clemson.

While they weren’t able to swap places with Clemson, they were able to steal a few first-place votes from them.

Alabama had eight votes for the No. 1 last week, and now has 10.
