When the Phoenix Suns are on the clock with the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, the organization will have quite a few prospects to consider. From Isaac Okoro to Patrick Williams, the Suns have been linked to several 3-and-D prospects.
However, Stanford guard Tyrell Terry could be a player to monitor, as well.
According to Bryan Kalbrosky of the USA TODAY Sports Media Group, the Suns have interviewed Terry twice during the pre-draft process. The team has long stated that they value shooting in the draft and Terry certainly fits the bill as an elite shooter.
According to a person with knowledge of the situation who spoke to USA TODAY Sports Media Group on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, Terry already has interviewed with the organization twice. His IQ for the game is off the charts, and alongside star guard Devin Booker, the two offensive juggernauts potentially can create their own version of Golden State’s Splash Brothers.
Terry averaged 14.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals in 31 games last season at Stanford. He converted on 44.1% of his shots from the field and 40.8% from 3-point range, including an incredible 50.8% on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers.
The 6-foot-2 guard has interviewed very well during the pre-draft process and has demonstrated a high-level IQ. Terry even “broke a record” for his testing during meetings administered by multiple teams as he has helped his draft stock immensely.
Terry projects to be a good fit for any team in the league and appears poised to have a smooth transition to the next level. He is projected to be selected 10th by the Suns in the latest 2020 Rookie Wire NBA Mock Draft.
