The Chicago Bears don’t have many believers through the first six weeks of the 2020 season. But it doesn’t matter. Because while things have been ugly at times for the Bears, they’re 5-1 to start the season with the arrow pointing up.
On Sunday, the Bears defeated the Carolina Panthers 23-16 to improve to their best start since 2012. But, most importantly, they gained sole possession of the NFC North through these first six weeks.

The Bears can think the team they defeated in Week 5, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for that. The Bucs made Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ afternoon miserable. Rodgers tossed two interceptions and notched a 35.4 passer rating in a 38-10 loss to the Bucs.
Chicago also distanced themselves from the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. While the Lions got the best of a bad Jacksonville Jaguars team, they remain in third place with a 2-3 record. Meanwhile, the Vikings look absolutely abysmal recording their fifth loss of the season and sit at the bottom of the division at 1-5.
The Bears defeated the Lions in Week 1, and they won’t face another division rival until Week 10, when they host the Vikings on Monday Night Football.
