The Buffalo Bills made an addition to their team via a familiar face on Wednesday. Cornerback Lafayette Pitts was signed to the practice squad
The team announced the move, but there was no corresponding transaction was required. That’s because the Bills had an open spot on the practice squad after waiving offensive lineman Evan Boehm with an injury designation last week.
Pitt, 28, last played on the Bills in 2018. Buffalo picked him up on waivers in October 2017 and Pitts then spent the rest of that year and the ensuing season in Buffalo.
During him time in western New York, Pitts was mostly just a core special teams player. In his second season with the Bills, Pitts, who played in all 16 games that year, played in 64 percent of Buffalo’s special teams snaps.
While Pitts does have that prior experience with the Bills, his time in Buffalo was not under current special teams coordinator Heath Farwell, who was hired just last season.
Pitts had worked out with the Bills late last week.
