Before COVID-19 shook up the college basketball season, Wisconsin was scheduled to participate in the 2020-2021 Fort Myers Tip-Off, an early-season tournament taking place in November. The Badgers are now pulling out of the tournament that originally included Colorado, Butler, and USF. The news was reported by Matt Norlander, a senior college basketball writer for CBS:
Sources: Wisconsin, a potential top-10 team, has pulled out of the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Same field that formerly included Colorado + Butler. USF is the fourth team in this MTE and the plan is still to hold the event late November. Wisconsin will look to do a home MTE if feasible.

In addition, the report says that the Badgers will try to host their own MTE (multi-team event) in late November. Multiple Big Ten schools have followed the route of pulling out of an early-season tournament and attempting to run their own. We will see if the Badgers can pull off scheduling a November event at the Kohl Center to make up for missing out on the Fort Meyers Tip-Off in Florida.
