Just when you thought the ceiling for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen couldn’t get any higher, it does… and it came via a pretty interesting route.
Hall of Famer and former Packers quarterback Brett Favre not only put some praise on Allen recently, he compared him to a guy who’s going to eventually join him in Canton and a player the Bills are very familiar with.
That guy was Tom Brady. Favre said Allen could essentially be the next NFL quarterback in line to have Brady’s career.
“(Allen’s) time is now and I think it is going to be for quite a while,” Favre said via SiriusXM radio. “I think Josh Allen will be the new Tom Brady, you know, at some point he will be running the division. I believe that.”
Favre, like many, is seeing some massive improvement in Allen on the field in 2020. The Bills QB is in the middle of the NFL’s MVP discussion after only four games, but naturally, there’s still a long way to go in that.
The former Packers gun-slinger likely also dusted off these comments because he has a fondness for Allen as he got to known him earlier this offseason. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the Bills tried to keep their offseason video meetings interesting. In doing so, the coaching staff got in touch with former NFL greats to get them in meetings to chat with current Bills players. Among those was Favre, who talked to Buffalo’s quarterback room in June.
