The Philadelphia Eagles finally found themselves a shutdown cornerback, when the organization acquired cornerback Darius Slay from the Detroit Lions for two late-round draft picks, Slay has given up almost 32 yards per game receiving and has played a major role in the ever-improving Eagles defense.
Slay’s play has been even more impressive considering the Eagles and the other 31 teams around the NFL had their offseason’s impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak around the world. The NFL has been hit with a rash of positive tests over the past two weeks, with the Titans and now the Patriots having big named stars test positive.
On Wednesday Slay was asked about having an NFL season during the pandemic and he was honest with his assessment that the season maybe should have been postponed or even canceled.
