Oklahoma was about to get a spark in its side, or is Oklahoma?
Sooners Wire was able to confirm early Saturday morning that star defensive end Ronnie Perkins had traveled and was expecting to play against Iowa State, or at the latest, Texas this week. Multiple reports are that he received a special NCAA appeal and his suspension had been lifted.
Well, when Lincoln Riley was able to finally comment on the situation, he left a lot more questions than answers on the Big 12 teleconference on Tuesday.
Lincoln Riley: "I'm in the same spot I've been with all of those guys. It could change in five minutes or it could change in three weeks … I wish I had more answers but I don't."#Sooners https://t.co/z7z9TQsVCf

Phrasing is everything.
A year ago during OU-Texas, Riley told the media that two of his starting offensive linemen had a ‘long way’ to go before being healthy to play in the game. Both Adrian Ealy and Erik Swenson played in the game and played it at what seemed like 100 percent ability.
Again, phrasing is everything.
Lincoln chose his words carefully. "His status HAS NOT changed." He didn't say it wouldn't change or that it couldn't change.
I stand by my reporting. Ronnie Perkins is expected to play this weekend. https://t.co/QMXeEyKbos
